Andrew Bynum Begins Basketball Activities, Timetable Still Unknown

New Cleveland Cavaliers' center Andrew Bynum has increased basketball activity after missing the entirety of last season. As tweeted out by Cavalier beat writer Jason Lloyd, Bynum "definitely" thinks he will play this season. Then again, last year he said he could almost be playing at around this time as well. Other Cavalier writers inform the public that Bynum began these activities just two weeks ago, and his status for the season opener is unknown.
Cavalier fans are hoping that he will end up playing this year, unlike Sixers' fans who waited all year to only see him play in scrimmages. In his last season, back with the Lakers, Bynum put up impressive numbers, with 19.1 points and 12.1 rebounds per game. How he performs once he returns still remains a mystery. He has sit out too long to know if he'll be able to put those numbers again, especially on a different team.

The Cavaliers have a strong, young core with Kyrie Irving, Dion Waiters, and Triston Thompson. Don't forget that this team had four players playing in the Rising Stars game. Add Bynum to the front court with a healthy Anderson Varejao and this team is playoff-bound.
