The Portland Trail Blazers opened training camp on Tuesday and already have an injury to a key player. All-Star forward LaMarcus Aldridge has a left hip flexor strain and is currently listed as day-to-day.
As reported by the Associated Press Sports through Yahoo! Sports, Aldridge's return is uncertain after he injured his left hip during a practice on Wednesday night. He was unable to participate in practice on Thursday.
The Trail Blazers have very little experience on the roster at power forward should Aldridge miss significant time. The only forward with more than one year experience on the roster is Dorell Wright. The Blazers also say guard Will Barton sustained a concussion.
Aldridge is in his eighth NBA season, all with Portland. He's been a very durable player and a 2-time All-Star. He averaged 21.1 points, 9.1 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 37.7 minutes per game last season.
Aldridge has averaged over 20 points and 8 rebounds per game in each of the past three seasons. His career averages are 18.3 points and 7,.8 rebounds per game.
