Magic not rushing Glen Davis

Orlando Magic forward Glen Davis is progressing on schedule and he's progressing slowly, according to general manager Rob Hennigan. These two things don't usually line up, but it's been the Magic's plan to take things slowly with Davis and his recovery from foot surgery. While Davis is making progress, Hennigan says the team still doesn't have a firm timetable for his return.

``He’s progressing on schedule and he is progressing slowly. And that’s by design. One thing that we want to make sure of is that when Glen does come back we don’t want him to re-aggravate that foot. So we’re being very cautious and very vigilant in how he is preparing. He is moving along as scheduled but we still don’t have a firm timetable yet to when he will return.’’
Davis is recovering from foot surgery that ended his 2012-13 season prematurely. He had to undergo surgery again in July to repair the broken bone in his foot, and it remains unclear when he'll be ready to rejoin the Magic.

There is speculation that Davis will become a trade piece this season considering the Magic have several young players -- including Tobias Harris -- they'd like to give minutes to at the forward position. He's a veteran that should appeal to team's who consider themselves contenders, so Orlando will likely try to get him back and healthy in time to make a deal.
