Hawks' Lou Williams not ready for training camp

Atlanta Hawks guard Louis Williams has not been cleared to participate in training camp after ACL surgery. The former Naismith Prep Player of the Year tore his ACL in January against the Brooklyn Nets. Williams came over to Atlanta from the 76ers in the summer of 2012. In his final year as a 76er, Williams averaged 14.9 point per game off the bench, and ended up second in the 6th man of the year voting.

If Williams ends up missing regular season games, the Hawks are expected to rely on former Vanderbilt shooting guard John Jenkins. Jenkins averaged 6 points per game last year, but came up big in the last month of the season. In April, the 22-year-old, averaged 15 points per game. The Hawks will need Jenkins to produce at that level if they want to stay in the playoff picture.

There is not set timetable for Williams return.
