If you’re holding your breath to see where former first-overall pick Greg Oden signs, you should probably give it a rest. According to Oden’s agent, Mike Conley Sr., the big man isn’t expected to decide on where to play next season until at least this weekend, and it sounds like the decision could be pushed back even further.
Oden is weighing offers from the Miami Heat and five other teams at this point, also believed to be including the New Orleans Pelicans, Sacramento Kings, San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Mavericks. Formal offers have yet to have been made, according to Conley.
At this point, it’s unclear which direction Oden is leaning. It was initially said that the center was seeking an obvious role with a contender, but a recent report stated that Oden may feel more comfortable attempting his comeback with a rebuilding team that won’t offer as much spotlight as someone such as the Spurs or Heat.
Oden reportedly impressive several teams last week when he worked out in front of multiple clubs.
