Lakers' Kobe Bryant Wants to Play for Three More Years

With his recent injury, fans of Kobe Bryant feared he may be nearing the end of his career. Bryant sees this as fuel to keep playing. Just the Kobe mentality we have all come to know and love.

In a report by Eric Pincus of LA Times, Bryant reported that he thinks he can compete at a high level for another three years.
"I fell pretty damn confident I can be at a high level for at least another three years," said Bryant in a video interview with Mike Trudell of Lakers.com, released on Monday.
"I think the [Achilles] injury has something to do with it. It really increased the drive."
In the interview, Bryant revealed that he was inspired by the San Antonio Spurs, whose age did not stop them from becoming seconds away from winning an NBA Championship.
"It's a testament to what skill can do. To what us old guys can do if you play together, if you play with one mind and one purpose, you can accomplish great things," he said. "It was inspiration for me and hopefully inspirational for the city of Los Angeles and this organization of what we can do, how the tide can change fairly quickly and we'll be looking at a parade."
What happens in the future depends more than just Kobe's return. Dwight Howard's decision this off-season will play a big factor on how the Lakers will move forward with the following season. Bryant has always been a fierce competitor, his drive and skill is still there, and not many people should be surprised that he wants to keep playing the game he loves.
