Bulls' Taj Gibson Will Miss USA Minicamp

Chicago Bulls' Taj Gibson was expected to partake in the USA Basketball's, but will not be able to due to a sprained ankle that occurred during a workout. According to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune, Gibson doesn't feel that the injury is severe, but wants to be ready for training camp.
“My ankle isn’t too bad but I don’t want to make it worse because I want to be fresh for training camp and the season. I’m just real bummed because I felt ready and had had a great few weeks of workouts.”
Gibson was one of 27 members that were supposed to take part in the minicamp that ran from July 21-25. His absence from this minicamp should not affect his chances to make the 2014 USA team for the World Championships.

Last season, Gibson averaged 8 points and 5.3 rebounds per game for the Chicago Bulls, who lasted until the second round of the playoffs where they fell to the to-be champions, Miami Heat. Gibson's minutes decreased during the playoffs.
