Three weeks after undergoing “FAST technique” procedures on both of his knees, Los Angeles Lakers forward Pau Gasol shed his crutches, according to Eric Pincus of The Los Angeles Times.
Gasol made the announcement via his Twitter account, letting his followers know that he is finally off his crutches.

The procedure Gasol underwent involved inserting a probe into his knees while using directed ultrasound waves to remove degenerated tissue in his patellar tendons. He’s scheduled to receive stem-cell injections to help stimulate the regeneration of tissue in his knees.
As a result of the procedure, Gasol is expected to be out of action for 12 weeks from the time of the initial procedure. Pincus notes that the big man should be able to resume basketball-related activities by early August.
