Warriors’ Stephen Curry injures ankle in Game 3 loss

In the final minutes of last night’s Game 3 loss to the San Antonio Spurs, shooting guard Stephen Curry aggravated his left ankle injury, according to Monte Poole of The Mercury News.

Curry suffered the injury when he collided with Spurs guard/forward Danny Green. He hopped away from the collision, and he was clearly hobbled by the tweaked ankle. He remained in the game, but it was evident the ankle – that’s hampered him throughout the playoffs – was an issue.

At this point, Curry will receive treatment and be evaluated today before any decision is made for Sunday’s Game 4. Curry could wind up being a game-time decision, depending on the severity of the aggravation, but at this point coach Mark Jackson could only say that the team will have to wait and see how the ankle responds.

While Curry was off last night, he’s helped carry the Warriors into the second round of the NBA Playoffs. If Golden State hopes to have any chance of advancing past the Spurs they’ll need Curry on the court.
