Stephen Curry plays through ankle injury in Warriors’ loss

Prior to last night’s Game 5 against the San Antonio Spurs, Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry told Tim Kawakami of The Mercury News that he was “ready to go” for the contest. Curry was able to suit up, but he was largely ineffective in the Warriors’ loss.

Curry said that his ankle felt much better than it did before Game 4, as it improved through treatment over the last day-plus. He felt he accomplished his goal of being able to suit up for Game 5 without facing a setback with the injury.

While Curry felt good about his recovery, he couldn’t have felt the same about last night’s performance. The point guard shot only 4-of-14 from the field – including 1-of-7 from three-point range. He finished with nine points, eight assists, one steal and four turnovers.
