Rockets' Jeremy Lin hopes to play in Game 6

Houston Rockets guard Jeremy Lin has sat out the past two games of the team's first-round playoff series against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Lin increased his workout regimen yesterday -- adding contact for the first time since he sustained his chest injury -- and he's hopeful that he'll play in Game 6 tonight, according to Jonathan Feigen of The Houston Chronicle.

Before the Rockets would clear Lin to return, coach Kevin McHale told reporters that the guard would have to see some level of contact during practice.

“I told him, ‘He’s got to get a little bit of contact,’ ” Rockets coach Kevin McHale said. “Jeremy wants to play. It’s a matter of can he protect himself because if he can’t protect himself and he can’t be effective, it’s just impossible to play. I think he is getting better. (Wednesday,) he seemed to tolerate a lot more of what they asked him to do.”

Lin suffered his injury during the second game of the series. He attempted to play Game 3, but the bruised chest clearly impacted his performance. Houston elected to hold him out of games 4 and 5.
