NBA rumors: Bucks prefer Monta Ellis over Brandon Jennings

The Milwaukee Bucks have quite the offseason ahead of them, as their entire backcourt will become free agents. According to Marc Stein of ESPN, there is a rising belief among executive circles in the NBA that the Bucks want to re-sign Monta Ellis over bringing back Brandon Jennings.

Ellis and mid-season acquisition J.J. Redick are set to become unrestricted free agents -- assuming Ellis opts out of his current deal -- while Jennings will be a restricted free agent. In the case of Jennings, the Bucks can match any offer he receives. However, they may not be inclined to do so, as it appears they'd rather enter next season with a duo of Ellis and Redick.

Will Ellis and Redick played well together this season, there are questions surrounding the viability of Milwaukee's defense with them manning the backcourt. There's also the question of whether or not Redick wants to re-sign with the Bucks.
