Mavericks rumors: Dallas targeting Dwight Howard

The Dallas Mavericks are expected to shop the No. 13 overall pick in the upcoming NBA Draft in order to help create the cap space necessary to make a serious run at free agent center Dwight Howard, according to Chad Ford of ESPN.

The Mavericks are one of the teams that are said to be intriguing Howard, and it appears owner Mark Cuban is interested in bringing the big man to Dallas.

The Mavericks' pick carries with it a cap hold of just over $1.65 million. It is the first lottery pick Dallas has in 12 years, but they are hoping to cash it in for a bigger prize.
