Knicks rumors: Jason Kidd mulling retirement

The New York Knicks believe point guard Jason Kidd will return for the 2013-14 season, and the veteran continues to say the "plan" is for him to return. However, Kidd told Marc Berman of The New York Post that he is still in the process of making a final decision on whether he'll be back for another season or if he'll retire.

Told Tyson Chandler had said he was still mulling things over, Kidd said, “I am thinking about it. We’ll see. I have to make a decision. We’ll see what happens. Right now I plan on coming back but in the next couple of days or a week or so, I’m going to think about it if I should keep playing or trying something different.’’
Kidd has a plan beyond basketball, as he told Berman that television and coaching are still on his brain as future endeavors. At this point, money is not an object for Kidd, so the two years and $6.2 million remaining on his contract wouldn't be a deterrent to calling it a career.

While he was a nice player for the Knicks this season, Kidd struggled during the playoffs, going multiple games without scoring. He shrugged this off saying that this sort of thing will happen when you're 40 years old.
