Heat preparing for Bull’s Derrick Rose

The Chicago Bulls are not expecting point guard Derrick Rose to return this season. Still, that isn’t stopping the Miami Heat from preparing for the All-Star. Heat coach Erik Spoelstra told reporters – including Vaughn McClure of The Chicago Tribune – that Rose is in the back of his mind.

“We have to prepare for the awareness that he possibly could come back,’’ Spoelstra said. “That’s all the thought we’re giving it. If he does, we’ll try to be aggressive, as we normally are.’’

Without Rose and with the multiple injuries the Bulls are dealing with – including Kirk Hinrich, Joakim Noah and Luol Deng – the Heat are significant favorites entering their second-round series against Chicago. Even so, Miami doesn’t appear to be taking anything for granted when it comes to Rose and the Bulls, who has received full medical clearance to return.

However, Rose is dealing with mental impediments that continue to keep him off the court. The latest news is that his muscle memory is lacking, and that he’s still not confident that his body will do what he asks of it. Until he regains that confidence, it doesn’t appear that Rose will rejoin the Bulls.
