Despite missing a majority of the second half of Game 1 due to a shoulder injury, Miami Heat guard Mario Chalmers played in last night’s Game 2 loss to the Indiana Pacers.
Chalmers suffered the shoulder injury during the first game of the Eastern Conference Finals when he was hit by a David West screen. Prior to the team’s shootaround yesterday, Chalmers passed evaluation tests and was cleared to play.
The injury kept Chalmers out for most of the second half of the Heat’s Game 1 win over the Pacers. After the contest and before he was cleared for Game 2, Chalmers underwent extensive treatment on his shoulder, according to coach Erik Spoelstra.
Despite coming off the injury, Chalmers saw more playing time last night than he has in a majority of the team’s playoff games thus far. The guard was on the court for 29 minutes, shooting 2-of-6 from the field and finishing with six points, one rebound and five assists to go with five personal fouls and two turnovers.
