Celtics' Jared Sullinger aiming to be ready for training camp

After undergoing a successful but season-ending back surgery back on February 1st, Boston Celtics' forward Jared Sullinger is shooting the basketball once again. Rehab appears to be treating him nicely and at almost four months since the surgery, Sullinger looks like he'll be back in time for training camp.

From Scott Souza of Metro West Daily News:
“Feeling great,” he said following a 15-minute session that involved mostly perimeter shots. “I’m starting to run a little bit. Everything’s swell.”
Sullinger said he is only able to do “about 20 percent” of his normal workout, but that he remains on schedule for ramping up his on-court activities.
“My main goal is to be ready for training camp,” he said. “I have all summer. It’s a slow process.”
He will not, however, participate in the Orlando Summer League in July as he is cautious with his back. In the 45 games that Sullinger played in, he provided a solid 6 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. He mentioned that he doesn't want to mess up his back for next season so he will play it safe for the summer at least.

Before his draft, Sullinger had been "red-flagged" for back problems, the same ones that caused him to have the surgery. On the bright side, he was informed that this operation would end that nagging back problem. That is good news, as Sullinger seems to be a promising player and any problems, especially back ones, could hinder his progression as a basketball player.
