Carmelo Anthony’s shoulder ‘popped in and out’ during Game 6

The New York Knicks were finally able to defeat the Boston Celtics and advance to the second round of the NBA Playoffs, but it didn’t come without additional injury concerns. Knicks All-Star Carmelo Anthony told reporters – including Ian Begley of ESPN New York – that his troublesome left arm “popped in and out” during the contest.

"It was a little sore throughout the whole game," Anthony said. "Then when Bradley came and hit my shoulder from behind, it really just kind of popped in and out a little bit. But I'm fine."

The collision Anthony refers to happened in the fourth quarter between him and Avery Bradley. He admitted the arm is sore, but he also insisted that he’d be healthy enough to take the floor for Game 1 of the Knicks second-round series against the Indiana Pacers, which begins Sunday.

Anthony initially injured his shoulder during Game 5 when it was tugged on by Kevin Garnett. He’s been hampered by the arm since the end of the regular season.
