Even as most people believe Derrick Rose will not play for the remainder of the season as he recovers from knee surgery, the Chicago Bulls have not been definitive in ruling the All-Star out. Some thought they were simply leaving their options open, but Alex Kennedy of HoopsWorld.com reports it's because "they genuinely believe that Rose may be able to make his season debut at some point, possibly as early as Game 3 against the Miami Heat."
While nothing has been confirmed, Kennedy reports that "word out of Chicago is that Rose may suit up for Game 3," which will be played on Friday. Just because he'd dress doesn't mean he'd play, and nothing has been confirmed as of yet.
If Rose dresses, Kennedy says he would only be used in case of emergency. The Bulls are already without Luol Deng and Kirk Hinrich, while Joakim Noah is battling a foot injury. Still, Chicago was able to defeat the Heat in Game 1.
Rose is recovering from knee surgery which was required last year after he tore his ACL in the first round of the NBA Playoffs. He's been cleared to play and has resumed scrimmaging in practice.
