Bulls' Kirk Hinrich doubtful for Game 6

While Chicago Bulls guard Kirk Hinrich was able to shed his walking boot yesterday, his severely bruised left calf continues to cause him to be doubtful to play in tonight's Game 6 against the Brooklyn Nets, according to K.C. Johnson of The Chicago Tribune.

Hinrich told reporters that he'd have to "improve some definitely" if he were to play tonight. He's continuing to take the injury day-to-day, hoping to do everything he can treatment-wise to get back on the court.

"I'm still walking very gingerly," Hinrich said. "I haven't tried to run or cut or jump or anything yet. I'm hoping it improves a lot. ... It's just one of those things where I took a good shot and it's preventing me from moving very well."

Again sidelined through practice on Wednesday, Hinrich did say that the swelling has subsided somewhat in his calf. However, the injury is still clearly impacting him.

Hinrich sustained the injury while taking a charge from Deron Williams during Game 4. He was replaced by Nate Robinson in the Bulls' starting lineup for Game 5, and it appears to be a longshot that he'll return for tonight's contest against the Nets.
