Warriors F David Lee out for season

The Golden State Warriors lost forward David Lee to a hip injury during the team’s opening round playoff matchup against the Denver Nuggets. Lee has since undergone an MRI, and the results aren’t good. The forward has suffered a torn right hip flexor, and he is out for the remainder of the season, according to ken Berger of CBS Sports.

Lee sustained his injury in the fourth quarter of Saturday’s game when he was fouled by Nuggets center JaVale McGee. Following the foul, Lee landed on his right hip. He remained on the ground for some time before making two free throws and exiting the game.

The injury is a huge blow to the Warriors, who depended on Lee for scoring and rebounding. Now that he’s sidelined for the remainder of the playoffs, Golden State will likely rely more on Carl Landry – who replaced Lee Saturday – and Draymond Green.
