Golden State Warriors forward David Lee exited yesterday’s
playoff opener against the Denver Nuggets with a strained right hip flexor, the
team has announced.

Lee sustained the injury during the fourth quarter when he was fouled by Nuggets center JaVale McGee and landed on his right hip. Lee remained on the ground in obvious pain before shooting a pair of free throws. He then exited the contest.
The Warriors have said that X-rays on Lee’s hip have come back negative, but he’s expected to undergo an MRI exam today to further determine the extent of the damage.
Lee finished the game with 10 points and 14 rebounds over 29 minutes, and he’s certainly a key player for the Warriors. He was replaced by forward Carl Landry, and is questionable for Game 2, Tuesday night in Denver.
