Timberwolves’ Brandon Roy wants to play this season

Minnesota Timberwolves veteran Brandon Roy told Ric Bucher of CSN Bay Area that he hopes to play in one more game this season.

Roy didn’t expect to suit up last night against the Los Angeles Clipper, and the veteran also doesn’t figure on seeing the floor Friday in Utah against the Jazz. However, Roy does want to get on the court again this season, and he’s hoping it will be during a home game for the Timberwolves.

Bucher notes that Roy has two games he’s eyeing for a return; April 13 against the Phoenix Suns and April 15 versus the Utah Jazz. Both contests are home games.

Roy is focused on this year, as he said he’s still not sure what next season holds. It still has to be determined if he’ll be under contract with Minnesota beyond this year, but whatever the case he is looking to continue his career beyond 2013.

Roy appeared in the first five games of the season, but he’s been sidelined ever since due to continued knee issues. Similar knee ailments have all but derailed his once promising career.
