Steve Nash doubtful for Lakers' game tonight

Steve Nash is still nursing a hip strain.  It has kept him out one full game and most of another.  This would essentially be the this game he misses due to the hip if Nash can't go tonight.  And it looks like he can't.

According to Dave McMenamin of ESPN Los Angeles, Nash was unable to practice yesterday and is listed as doubtful for today's game against the Memphis Grizzlies.  McMenamin says the Lakers will again use Steve Blake if Nash can't go.

Nash has had a rough season.  He suffered a broken leg earlier in the season that kept him out far longer than most expected.  The initial diagnosis for that injury was a shin contusion after all.  He has played a total of just 50 games this season.  But when he's on the court, he makes a difference.

Nash is averaging 12.7 points and 6.7 assists per game.  He is not quite his old All-Star self, but that's to be expected with injuries and age.  At the peak, Nash was one of the best players in the league.  In his career, he has averaged 14.4 points and 8.5 assists per game.
