Spurs’ Tony Parker out with neck injury

As expected, the San Antonio Spurs ruled guard Tony Parker out for Saturday’s contest against the Atlanta Hawks. Parker has been dealing with various injuries throughout the season, but the Spurs announced that his neck ailment is what caused him to miss last night’s game.

San Antonio considers Parker day-to-day with multiple injuries – including to his neck, finger, ankle, shin and knee – according to Jeff McDonald of The San Antonio Express-News, but none of the bumps and bruises are considered to be serious. The Spurs started Nando De Colo in place of the injured Parker.

With Parker banged up in several different areas, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Spurs rest him for much of the remainder of the regular season in order to get him at least a little bit healthier entering the playoffs. McDonald notes that there’s no question that Parker will be ready for the playoffs at this point.
