McGrady spent time playing in China this season for Qingdao of the Chinese Basketball Association. He averaged 25 points per game while shooting 56 percent from the field during his time in China.
Prior to heading to China to play this season, McGrady worked out for the Spurs. San Antonio reevaluated their need for a player with his abilities following the release of Stephen Jackson and Boris Diaw’s surgery. T-Mac provides the Spurs with scoring ability, while he’s also an effective passer.
Because McGrady wasn’t on an NBA roster this season and was waived after March 1, Wojnarowski notes that he is eligible to play for the Spurs in the postseason. He’s averaged 19.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.21 steals in 32.7 minutes during his 15-year NBA career.
