Rockets’ Patrick Beverley receives death threats

Houston Rockets guard Patrick Beverley received death threats from one of the Oklahoma City Thunder’s ball boys, and police are looking into the situation. OKC fans in general are upset with Beverley for the role he played in Thunder guard Russell Westbrook’s season-ending knee injury.

The ball boy sent out a pair of tweets to Beverley – that have since been deleted – in which he said he was coming to kill the Rockets’ player. The tweets came from the handle @MitchellBrwn and said: "Patrick Beverly (sic), I'm coming to kill you." He later sent another one with Beverley's Twitter name, saying: "@pavbev21 I'm coming to kill you."

The ball boy went on to apologize for one of the posts, while he said his account was hacked during the other. The OKC police are working with the NBA to further investigate the threats.

For their part, the Thunder have said they “do not condone” the comments made by the ball boy. It sounds like his tenure in his former capacity will end very soon, if it hasn’t already.
