Rockets’ Jeremy Lin sits out Game 4

Houston Rockets guard Jeremy Lin’s chest injury kept him out of last night’s Game 4 lineup as his team took on the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round of the NBA Playoffs. The Rockets were able to extend the series, and Lin is hoping to return in time for Game 5.

It was reported just prior to the contest that Lin had been ruled out due to his bruised chest, which he sustained during Game 2 of the series. It caused him to miss the second half of that contest, but he did return for Game 3.

While Lin was able to suit up for the third game of the series, he was mostly ineffective for Houston. He scored only two points on 1-of-6 shooting with one assist over 18 minutes.

Considering he was only a shell of himself in Game 3, the Rockets elected to sideline Lin for Game 4. Houston was able to overcome the Russell Westbrook-less Thunder and extend the series. If Lin has to miss another contest, a majority of the burden of his absence will again fall on James Harden and Patrick Beverley.
