Nuggets’ Kenneth Farried ‘probably won’t start’ Game 2

Denver Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried will play in today’s Game 2 matchup against the Golden State Warriors, but coach George Karl told reporters – including Benjamin Hochman of The Denver Post – that he “probably won’t start.”

But — “I don’t know if he’ll start tomorrow,” Nuggets coach George Karl said Monday of Denver’s power forward. “I’ll have to see him in shootaround, see how sore he is, but my gut says he probably won’t start.”

While it sounds like Karl expects Faried to come off the bench for Game 2, Hochman believes the forward will start if he proves healthy enough to play.

Whatever the case, Faried will look to make a significant impact on the second game of this series. The energetic big man averaged 11.5 points and 9.2 rebounds per contest this season, and Faried will certainly help Denver on the boards.

Hochman adds that if Faried doesn’t get the start, the Nuggets will use Wilson Chandler at the four. If Faried does start, Denver will have a decision to make when it comes to Evan Fournier. The lineup could come down to Ty Lawson – Fournier – Andre Iguodala – Faried – Kosta Koufos with Chandler coming off the bench, or you could use Fournier off the bench and start Chandler.
