Lakers’ Steve Nash still dealing with injury

Los Angeles Lakers point guard Steve Nash was able to return for the team’s playoff opener against the San Antonio Spurs yesterday. However, the veteran told reporters – including Mike Bresnahan and Lance Pugmire of The Los Angeles Times – that he’s continuing to feel the effects of missing time due to injury, as he’s not feeling like himself.

"I'm not myself," Nash said. "I'm not moving that well. I'm struggling a little bit. I probably had a few shots in there that I probably normally make, but I still think it's important to try and contribute. We don't have enough points in our lineup every night."

Prior to appearing in yesterday’s contest, Nash had missed three weeks due to hip and hamstring injuries. He got off to a rough start and ultimately finished with 16 points, making six of his 15 shot attempts.

He told reporters that he doesn’t have a “miracle pill at this point,” but he said that he can’t simply sit out and not play. The 39-year-old plans on continuing to “fight and figure out a way to just help” the Lakers as they attempt to overtake the Spurs.
