Los Angeles Lakers point guard Steve Nash missed his third
consecutive game yesterday due to his hip injury.
Prior to the contest, the Lakers announced Nash was unlikely to suit up against the Los Angeles Clippers. Nash was then held out of the lineup, and the Lakers lost to their Los Angeles rivals 109-95.
While LA didn’t expect to have Nash in the lineup yesterday, coach Mike D’Antoni told reporters – including Arash Markazi of ESPN Los Angeles – that the Lakers are shooting for a Tuesday return for the veteran guard.
Steve Blake continued to start in place of the injured Nash, who’s began experiencing discomfort in his right hip since a loss to the Golden State Warriors on March 25. He has since been dealing with that injury, along with a strained right hamstring.
Since then, Nash has only played regular minutes in one game. D’Antoni described the injury as “serious,” as it’s kept Nash from practicing. We’ll see if he can get back to it today in an effort to return Tuesday against the New Orleans Hornets.
