Lakers' Steve Nash hopes to be 100% within a month

Rather than take time off following the end of the Los Angeles Lakers' season, Steve Nash told reporters -- including Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News -- that he will immediately attempt to heal his ailing hamstring and hip. Nash added that he's hoping to be back to 100 percent within the next month.

Nash was hampered by injuries throughout the year. He missed several games early in the season, and he was sidelined due to hip and hamstring ailments for the end of the regular season. While he was able to return for the playoffs, he was clearly not the same player, as the injuries had taken their toll.

To help play through the pain, Nash received several epidurals and cortisone shots toward the end of the year. He doesn't anticipate requiring any other similar procedures now that the season is over in order to improve his hip and hamstring.
