Lakers’ Steve Nash expected to start Game 2

Los Angeles Lakers point guard Steve Nash clearly wasn’t himself during the team’s loss to the San Antonio Spurs over the weekend. However, coach Mike D’Antoni told reporters – including Mike Trudell of Lakers.com – that Nash will start Game 2.

Nash didn’t look good during the Lakers’ playoff opener, as he was clearly hampered by a lack of conditioning and nagging hamstring and hip injuries. This impacted his play, as he didn’t shoot well from the field, and the veteran appeared fatigued in general.

Following the uninspiring performance, there was some concern that Nash wouldn’t be available for the Lakers in Game 2. However, not only with the guard be available, but he’ll be in the team’s starting lineup.

Nash was able to participate in a light team practice on Monday, and he apparently feels good enough to be considered as a probable starter for Wednesday’s matchup.
