Lakers’ Steve Blake out indefinitely

The hits keep on coming for the Los Angeles Lakers, as they could be without their top four guards for their Game 3 matchup against the San Antonio Spurs. While Jodie Meeks and Steve Nash could play, the team has announced that Steve Blake is out indefinitely after an ultrasound confirmed a moderate strain of his right hamstring.

Blake suffered his injury during Game 2. He felt a sharp pain in his hamstring while attempting to beat his defender off the dribble. It’s not clear how long he’ll be sidelined, but assuming the Lakers don’t advance to the second round of the playoffs it appears Blake is likely lost for the remainder of the season.

The Lakers counted on Blake when they were without injured star Kobe Bryant and Nash at the end of the regular season. Blake stepped up in a big way, helping the team advance to the playoffs. Now, the Lakers will have to attempt to advance past the Spurs without Blake.
