The Los Angeles Lakers are once again going to be
shorthanded against the San Antonio Spurs, as you can officially add Metta World
Peace to the team’s long list of players that will be sidelined due to injury. Lakers
coach Mike D’Antoni told reporters – including Dave McMenamin of ESPN Los Angeles
– that World Peace wanted to “give it a go” for Game 4, but the team elected to
rule him out.
"I appreciate everyone supporting my efforts on trying to finish the season on top and contribute to the team," World Peace said in a video he posted to his Twitter account Saturday. "I guess I have to finish the season on top in a different way. I won't be able to play Sunday, but it's OK. We're going to come out with the victory and then we'll move on from there. Hopefully, I can get back when we get to San Antonio."
