Bulls' Kirk Hinrich out for Game 5

Chicago Bulls guard Kirk Hinrich entered the day as doubtful to play in tonight's Game 5 matchup against the Brooklyn Nets. He's since been ruled out for the contest, and he told reporters -- including Nick Friedell of ESPN Chicago -- that it's going to be difficult to sit on the sidelines tonight with his team attempting to advance.

"It's difficult," Hinrich said. "Nobody wants to miss playoff games. There's no question. This is what you look to all year. There's nothing really I can do at this point other than just continue to try and prove it every day and see how it goes."

Hinrich suffered his bruised left calf during Game 4. He was walking with a noticeable limp over the weekend, and he wasn't able to put any weight on his injured leg when he woke up this morning. He said he's not sure when he'll be able to return for the Bulls.

"I wish I could tell you," Hinrich said. "We're just going to treat it like crazy and do everything they tell me to do, and hopefully I won't have to sit out more than one game."

The Bulls are expected to start Nate Robinson in place of the injured Hinrich. Marco Belinelli and Marquis Teague should also see increased minutes in Hinrich's absence.
