Bulls’ Joakim Noah will play in Game 2

Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah started yesterday’s playoff opener against the Brooklyn Nets, even after it looked like he may not be available. He played 12 minutes – as he continues to be hampered by a foot injury – and he told reporters – including Nick Friedell of ESPN Chicago – after the game that he will be able to suit up for Game 2.

Noah was questionable for yesterday’s game after a frustrating practice session on Friday. It was clear that the Bulls would limit Noah when he played, but it wasn’t determined if they would even have him suit up early in the Nets’ series.

The center continues to be hampered by a plantar fascia injury, which causes him to have to be eased back into action. While the injury isn’t one that heals without complete immobilization, Noah is confident that it will get better throughout the week.

"I think it will get better," said Noah, who iced his foot before he took a shower, then iced it again after. "I'm just excited for Monday. I'm not worried about (the foot)."

Noah scored four points on 2-of-6 shooting from the field with five rebounds.
