The Chicago Bulls got Joakim Noah and Taj Gibson back at the end of the season, but neither player is completely healthy entering the playoffs. For that reason, the Bulls will place both Noah and Gibson on minutes limits during their first-round matchup against the Brooklyn Nets.
Coach Tom Thibodeau told reporters -- including Chris Cason of CSN Chicago -- that the team is still evaluating how it is going to use Noah and Gibson. Both players could start or be used off the bench.
“It’s a combination of how much can we play [Joakim],” Thibodeau said. “Whether he starts or comes off the bench, I think he can handle both and we have to maximize what [Joakim] can bring to our team.”
For his part, Noah has no problem being used as a reserve as he continues to work his way back from a plantar fasciitis injury. It's an injury that requires complete immobilization to heal, something that Noah and the Bulls can't afford this time of year.
