The Minnesota Timberwolves' have expressed their interest in bringing back Kevin Love this season, if only for a week. It looks like they will have to wait a little longer before seeing if he is capable of returning. According to Jerry Zgoda of the Minneapolis Star Tribune, Love was asked in his previous evaluation to return in two to three weeks. The Timberwolves' doctors opted to have Love checked again next week, which would be the three week mark.
Wolves medical staff and Love’s surgeon conferred and decided it would be best to wait one more week before Love’s hand is scanned again to tell whether he has healed enough to resume contact.
“I’d love to see him get out there and play,” Adelman said. “He certainly would help us. And we’d get to see guys play together who haven’t played together all year. I think it would be [enough time]: Have him on the floor and put guys together. It will effect our rotation again, but it’s a nice effect to have.”Sitting at just 26 wins and 45 losses, the Timberwolves are in no condition to make a late playoff run if Love returns. The only benefits would be to see where he stands on returning to his normal, pre-injured self by having him face up against other NBA big men as well as building chemistry with the other Timberwolves starters. Whether or not Love gets another chance to play this season will be answered after next week's evaluation.
