D.J. White can officially say he's a member of the Boston Celtics for the rest of the season. Whether that means he will actually get minutes has yet to be seen. White has been playing with the Celtics on a 10-day contract, but according to Jessica Camerato of CSN Boston, the club will keep him on the roster throughout the remainder of this season.
White was not able to earn a contract earlier this year, so he went to play overseas. He played in China this season, but now he's back in the states and back on an NBA roster. White has appeared in four games for the Celtics, but he has averaged just 6.8 minutes per game.
The Celtics may end up using White more in a practice role than a game role. Of course, he will get game minutes. Considering the injuries the Celtics have dealt with this season, there will surely be chances for White to play. However, his main role will likely be one of the practice variety.
White has played four seasons in the NBA before this year. He has played for the Thunder and the Bobcats in his career. Overall, White has averaged 6.2 points per game in his career.
