Pau Gasol experienced soreness in his right foot while playing a two-on-two game at the team's training facility Saturday. He will see foot specialist Kenneth Jung on Sunday. The cause and extent of the soreness were unclear.Monday was supposed to be Pau's return date, but this setback would make a return then unlikely. Mike D'Antoni said that his return would be in jeopardy.
Mike D'Antoni on Pau Gasol: "We were talking about Monday [vs. PHX]. That could be in jeopardy, but he's close."Kobe Bryant, who recently suffered an ankle sprain, has high hopes for the impact Gasol will bring with his return.

"I think it's huge for us," Bryant said Friday. "We've been kind of able to keep the ship floating a little bit while he's been out. But having him back in that lineup changes things for defenses and what they have to prepare for. In the block, he's just a handful."After Monday's game, the Lakers will not play again until Friday. If Gasol does not play on Monday, he will have plenty of time to rest for the following game. The Lakers will want a healthy Gasol playing in the light of Kobe's injury.
