The Los Angeles Lakers could get a major shot in the arm on Friday. Both Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol could make their returns from injury. According to Dave McMenanamin of ESPN Los Angeles, coach Mike D'Antoni are hopeful the two stars will make their return.
Bryant has been trying to recovery from a severely sprained ankle. He suffered the injury when landing on an opposing player's foot - not an uncommon injury, except that the play was probably an illegal one. Bryant was not happy about the play or the injury, but for now he's focused on getting better.
Gasol has been dealing with plantar fasciitis. The injury is one that is unpredictable. Each player has his own recovery time, but Gasol knows the Lakers now need to pull out all the stops.
"Right now, it's all or nothing. We're down the last stretch, and we have to give our very best as individuals and as a group in order to have the best shot."Los Angeles holds the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference right now, but that's tenuous at best. They are 36-33, just a game and a half up on the Utah Jazz for that final spot.
