Kobe Bryant has now missed back-to-back game, a rare occurrence for the superstar. His severely sprained ankle kept him out of the Lakers' matchup with the Suns last night. It was the second of two games in a row for the Lakers, and as they have done all season, they dropped the second game.
The Lakers lost to the Suns, a team that is 22 games under .500, 99-76 yesterday. It was clear throughout the game that Los Angeles was running on fumes. With the injuries they've suffered, and with their leader on the bench, the Lakers simply couldn't overcome the Suns.
Bryant is hoping to get back on the court soon. He tried to play in the first game after injuring his ankle, but he could only make it through the first quarter of that game. Bryant has not returned to the court since. But it's clear how much the Lakers need him.
Bryant is averaging 27.1 points and 5.8 assists per game this season. In his career, he has averaged 25.5 points and 4.7 assists per game.
