The Los Angeles Lakers had a scare yesterday when Kobe Bryant had to exit the team's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder with an apparent elbow injury. The All-Star guard went back to the locker room but was ultimately able to return to the court and continue playing.
The injury, according to an Associated Press report, was a contusion to the ulnar nerve contusion. The injury is not serious and Bryant should not miss any additional time as a result of it.
Bryant and the Lakers are trying to battle back past .500 and push their way into the playoffs. However, injuries and poor play keep sidelining them. The Lakers lost to the Thunder last night to drop them back below .500.
As the season winds down, players like Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard and Steve Nash will need to get healthier to help lead the team into the playoffs. Bryant has been nicked up throughout the season, but he has not suffered a serious injury. Both Howard and Nash have not been so lucky.
