New York Knicks' Carmelo Anthony told reporters after a blowout loss to his former team the Denver Nuggets yesterday that he would be getting his knee drained. The procedure was completed today, and his status for Sunday is questionable according to a tweet by the Knicks PR Twitter account.
For the season, Anthony is averaging 27.5 points on 43.6% shooting and 37.5% from beyond the arc. He, along with the team, seems to have cooled down after an impressive start to the season. For a while, Carmelo's been in MVP talks considering the team's record and his influence on the court.

Carmelo Anthony had a soft tissue fluid collection of his posterior right knee aspirated today in NY. He is questionable for Sunday at LA.The procedure should speed up Carmelo's return to action but considering their positioning for the playoffs, there is little need to risk further injuring Carmelo. The Knicks will only go as far as he can carry them and he will be relied on immensely come the NBA playoffs, only around 20 games away.
