During his recovery time, Derrick Rose had a lot of time to practice aspects of his game that didn't require quick stops and cuts. Things like long-distance shooting. Because of all that additional practice, Rose is expected to return to the Bulls with an improve 3-point shot.
Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports says Rose's knee is good, he's strong, and he's getting closer to a return. In his downtime though, Rose has practiced his jump shot. He feels a lot more confident in the shot and so does his coach.
"I see his improvement each and every day," Thibodeau said. "And as I've told him, we've waited this long and we don't mind waiting until he is completely comfortable to play. And if that means a couple more games, five games, whatever it is. And that would be for any player, we don't want to put someone out there that is not comfortable with being out there."Rose has shot a decent 31.0% from 3-point range in his career. In his career, Rose has averaged 21.0 points per game. If he improve his 3-point shooting percentage, we can expect his points per game to go up once he gets comfortable being back on the floor.
