The Los Angeles Clippers will be without Caron Butler, but not for long. The veteran forward suffered an elbow strain and is expected to miss a week. He has been a key role player for the Clippers, so the team wants him back available as soon as possible.
Arash Markazi of ESPN Los Angeles says the injury looked worse than it actually was. Because Butler was in so much pain after suffering the strain, it seemed he would be out quite bait longer than a week.
"Last night I wasn't too optimistic when I saw him after in the training room. He wasn't pretty," Del Negro said. "He was in a lot of pain. So there wasn't anything structurally or anything, he just has a strain so, you know, we'll give him some time off and reevaluate him. But they're telling us around a week."Butler has averaged 24.3 minutes per game this season with the Clippers. In that time, he has put up 10.3 points per game and 2.9 rebounds per game. Butler is in his 11th NBA season. In his career, he has averaged 15.6 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.
