Boston Celtics forward Kevin Garnett sat out last night’s
contest against the Charlotte Bobcats due to a left adductor strain, according
to Chris Forsberg of ESPN Boston. Coach Doc Rivers told reporters that, due to
the injury, he’s unsure of Garnett’s status for Monday’s game against the Miami
Heat.
When asked about Garnett’s status for tomorrow’s contest,
Rivers said:
"I don’t know," said Rivers. "Honestly, I haven’t looked that far ahead. I have no idea."
The Celtics had considered resting Garnett at the end of the
season in preparation for the playoffs. However, Rivers said Saturday’s sitting
had nothing to do with this plan. Instead, Garnett was held out because “he
wasn’t moving well yesterday in practice or today [at shoot around],”according to
Rivers.
Jeff Green replaced Garnett in Boston’s starting lineup last
night. The Celtics have 17 games remaining and current sit in third place in
the Atlantic Conference with a record of 36-29.
