Tony Parker is hurt again. This would be news if the San Antonio Spurs were losing in the games he missed. However, the Spurs manage to find ways to win no matter who is sidelined with an injury. This continued to prove true as the Spurs beat the Phoenix Suns last night without Parker on the court.
Mike Monroe of the San Antonio Express-News says Parker suffered a right triceps contusion on Thursday. The injury kept Parker out of last night's game but is not expected to sideline him long. Parker was actually able to play through the injury on Friday, but the team did not think it was smart to send him out there again.
Parker has missed time on multiple occasions this season. In total, he has played in 54 of the team's 58 games. Even as he misses time, though, the Spurs keep winning. San Antonio has shown a remarkable ability to win without their stars and win with their stars. It's the mark of a truly great team.
Parker is having a fantastic year this season. He is averaging 21.6 points and 7.6 assists per game. In his career, he has averaged 17.1 points and 6.0 assists per game.
