Despite rumors to the contrary, the Los Angeles Clippers say they are not interested in trading Eric Bledsoe or DeAndre Jordan. Both players have been linked to a possible trade involving Kevin Garnett of the Boston Celtics. However, the team is trying to squash the rumors now.
According to Broderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times, the Clippers have no interest in trading Bledsoe or Jordan. The team's VP of basketball operations has confirmed that teams have called him about the two players and his job is to call them back, but he said the team is not shopping anyone right now.
Of course, just because a front office tells the media they aren't trying to trade someone doesn't mean it's true. They don't deceive the public because they want to, but it is a necessary business practice. If trade talks were confirmed and constantly public, deals would likely never be struck.
Bledsoe is the Clippers' back-up point guard, and he is the most intriguing part of any trade. He has seen quite a bit of playing time with Chris Paul's injuries this season. And when he has played, he's been good. The Clippers have long expressed a desire to keep Bledsoe, though. Even with him coming off the bench.
